- Product Description
- Adobe's new enterprise document control technology will enable enterprise customers to tightly integrate document security with existing authentication, policy, and document management systems. The stand-alone server integrates within the enterprise infrastructure to ensure that only intended recipients can open a protected document and enables the author to expire and revoke documents, regardless of how many copies were made or distributed. This technology is driven by the powerful security capabilities built into Adobe PDF and the ubiquity of the free Adobe Reader.
- Market Opportunity
- Total loss from information theft in 2002 - both from outside attackers and internal employees -- was more than $70M with an average loss of approximately $2.7M , (CSI/FBI Crime and Security Survey). Additionally, new government mandates are requiring increased security for enterprise information. "IDC believes security software will grow from $6B in 2001 to $12.4B in 2006, representing a 16% CAGR" (The Big Picture: IT Security Products and Services Forecast and Analysis, 2002-2006, IDC).
- DEMO Says
- Confidentiality and currency of documents extends no further than the originator who created them. Once distributed, it's anyone's guess who's reading, printing, copying, and forwarding key documents. Adobe is leading the charge to manage and control document distribution. The Guardian server brings next-generation features -- including expiration, revocation, and auditing -- to Acrobat to manage how a document is used and distributed. In a world of increasing regulation, Adobe brings a new level of assurance to document management. - CS
