- Product Description
- Apollo is the code name for a cross-operating system runtime that allows developers to leverage their existing Web development skills in HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash and Flex in order to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop. Apollo applications can engage audiences anywhere, anytime, allowing users to interact with RIAs, to experience interactive media and to collaborate on information and documents outside the constraints of the browser.
- Market Opportunity
- The market for rich Internet applications is growing rapidly. According to ZapThink, spending on RIA business applications is projected to increase rapidly over the next five years, exceeding $3 billion by 2011. This $3 billion market is exemplified by the growth of sites such as MySpace, YouTube, Zillow and Google Maps.
- DEMO Says
- More and more software is delivered via the Web, even while the ubiquity of connectivity remains elusive. Adobe bridges the gap in our occasionally connected world by providing an application environment that supports online/offline use. But that’s just one of several significant benefits. The platform brings desktop-like performance to Web-delivered applications and brings the flexibility and design of Web development to desktop software. Adobe is delivering the new standard for software delivery.
