Market Opportunity
There are currently 50 million blogs in existence—a fi gure that triples every six months. Between 60,000 and 70,000 new blog posts are made daily.
DEMO Says
“Splogging” is a pervasive problem in the blogosphere that hasn’t been widely discussed. Sploggers scan target sites for new content, scraping the content, changing a few nouns and verbs, and posting to their own sites. Sploggers are crafty, greedy and doing great business at the moment. Of the 30,000 to 70,000 new blogs created daily, an estimated 30% to 45% are splogs. Iwerx’s Sentinel product aims to stop sploggers in their tracks by continually monitoring the Web for its clients’ plagiarized content. Sentinel not only finds exact matches, but also words that have been replaced by synonyms.
