Asankya has closed on more than $2.5 million in funding, from Veritas Venture Partners, an Israeli venture-capital firm with offices in Atlanta; In-Q-Tel, a Washington, D.C.-based fund; the Seraph Group, an Atlanta venture fund; and angels investors including Steve Chaddick, a co-founder of CIENA Corp., and Frank Bonsal, a co-founder of NEA.

Asankya provides seamless transport of realtime, real-content over all IP networks supporting HD quality and two-way interactive content not well addressed in today’s content delivery networks and peer-to-peer solutions. The company’s core enhancing technology, Parallel Networking, intelligently reads and characterizes IP networks in real-time at the packet level -- avoiding traffic blockers that impede content delivery and the end-user experience. Working with leading ISP’s, Asankya is creating the first truly open, streaming delivery network, Hypermesh. The network provides seamless multimedia delivery driven by the Asankya’s Parallel Networking technology.
Market Opportunity
According to Dan Rayburn of Streaming Media, the U.S. video delivery market in 2007 was $482 million and will be $800 million in 2008. Wintergreen Research forecasts the streaming media enterprise market to reach $2 billion by 2013.
