Product Description
Gagapost makes owning and maintaining a personal blog easier than it's ever been. Using regular PCs or handheld devices, blog owners can easily create a post and then enable various groups of friends to collaborate on, contribute to and co-own the post. Yet, each personal blog is still individually owned. By collecting pieces of puzzles from yourself and your friends’ memories, your personal blog flourishes and grows on its own. Gagapost is the new content-based social network.
Market Opportunity
eMarketer reports that there were 22.6 million U.S. bloggers in 2007. Technorati states that 54 percent of blogs fit into the personal/lifestyle topic area. However, the same report also states the number of posts per day decreased from 1.5 million in 2007 to 900 thousand in 2008.
DEMO Says
While another blogging platform ordinarily wouldn't capture our attention, Gagapost is worthy of a closer look because of its extraordinarily tight integration of community and content. In Gagapost, an individual post is the center point of the social network and content becomes the connective tissue among collaborating groups. A new blog platform faces significant barriers to entry, but we think Gagapost's flexible business model gives this platform a real shot.
