- Product Description
- Harnessing the power of custom-designed semiconductor materials, QuantumFilm image sensors are the world’s first commercial thin film-based image sensors, replacing silicon. It delivers 4x higher sensitivity, 2x higher dynamic range and an array of additional features not found on traditional silicon-based imagers. The first productization of QuantumFilm, due out next year, targets the mobile phone industry, which has been saddled with lackluster camera technology – until now.
- Market Opportunity
- Research indicates that 800 million cameraphones were sold in 2008. This number will grow to over 1 billion cameraphones in 2010. The total imaging market was $5 billion in 2008 and will grow to $7 billion in 2011.
