Total Immersion (DEMO 07), which integrates video and interactive 3-D graphics, won the award for "best application of visual computing" competing against 60 companies during last week's NVISION 08 visual computing conference in San Jose, CA.
“Given the caliber of those participating at the NVISION Emerging Companies Summit, we’re gratified and honored to receive this recognition,” said Bruno Uzzan, Total Immersion's CEO and co-founder. “Augmented reality, or AR, is among the most compelling technologies in marketing today, and its appeal is growing dramatically. With AR, the virtual world literally leaps out of the screen into the real world to captivate audiences with 3D, interactive brand experiences. Our AR makes it possible to supercharge a marketing campaign by offering effects never before possible in real-time.”
Total Immersion designs "augmented-reality experiences" from such theme parks and special events to promotions and marketing. Customers include auto makers such as Infiniti, Renault, GM, Peugeot, and BMW, theme parks such as Six Flags and Futuroscope, broadcasters, toy makers, and retailers. Founded in 1999 by Uzzan and Valentin Lefevre, Total Immersion is based in France and has an office in Los Angeles.
