- Product Description
- Virtual Iron LXE is a software product for enterprise data centers that delivers a virtual computing environment in which virtual servers are supplied in real-time with the appropriate physical resources from the data center. Through the ability to aggregate and partition the processing power across multiple servers, companies gain significant utilization improvements, can dynamically re-allocate capacity to handle demand spikes, and can quickly provision and deploy new services. With LXE, customers build data centers that are more flexible and manageable, with a significantly lower total cost of ownership.
- Market Opportunity
- Today’s data centers are complex, over-provisioned and underutilized. IDC Research estimates that $95B will be spent this year - mostly on labor costs - managing the 20M servers deployed in data centers worldwide. According to the Gartner Group, by 2008 companies that don’t virtualize their servers will spend 25% more annually for hardware, labor, and rack space for Intel servers. IDC predicts that automated server management, provisioning and virtualization will be a $5B market by 2008.
- DEMO Says
- “In recent years, DEMO has focused some attention on the challenge of streamlining and consolitating enterprise IT infrastructure, and has found top notch solutions for data migration, application integration, and server consolidation. Still, we understand the need for a comprehensive, data center wide solution. We found that in VirtuOS."
