- The U3 platform transforms USB flash drives from simple storage devices into USB smart drives. U3 powered smart drives allow users to carry their “personal workspace” with them wherever they go. This is not relegated to only data and files, but also software applications and settings, and the means for managing them. U3 smart drive users can make any Windows XP or 2000 PC their own, wherever they go, and walk away knowing no personal information was left behind.

- Gartner has predicted that USB flash drive shipments will reach 83 million units in 2005 and nearly 150 million units by 2008. Gartner estimates that in 2008, USB smart drives will represent 70% of all USB drives shipped.
