- Product Description
- AOL® Video Search featuring Truveo is building a comprehensive search engine for video on the Web. The company’s unique Visual Crawler technology enables AOL® Video Search to find videos that current search engines miss, and deliver highly relevant and up-to-the-minute results to users. Truveo was acquired by America Online in December 2005 and its technology will be integrated into a new version of AOL® Video Search (www.AOL.com/video) this spring.
- Market Opportunity
- Video search is a rapidly growing business as more consumers access media from multiple sources. Current search engines are limited in their ability to search for video and miss the most relevant ones. AOL® Video Search finds the most up-to-the-minute videos be it Britney Spears or George Bush.
- DEMO Says
- Crawling technology finds only a fraction of the video available on the ’Net because much of it is locked in a data store behind a dynamic site. Typical spiders just don’t go there. AOL® Video Search does, and it’s found a clever way to extract and catalog the video that other search engines don’t even find.
