- Pluggd’s HearHere allows people to jump to the exact position in audio or video, such as podcasts and video casts, where there is something they want to hear. People have come to expect this instant return with web pages, but up until now audio and video have failed to deliver the same searchability. Now, you will no longer have to listen to five minutes of an NPR podcast before you reach the topic you care about. HearHere changes everything.
- Market Opportunity
- The quantity of digital media content on the Internet is growing tremendously, but the tools for browsing, searching and categorizing it are still focused on text-based content. HearHere solves this problem. Pluggd will use www.pluggd.com to bring HearHere to market and will also make the service available to independent content creators and larger media companies.
- DEMO Says
- As non-text content grows, so, too, grows the problem of finding relevant, interesting audio material. Searches of podcast directories do a reasonable job of finding what you’re looking for, so long as the relevant keywords are in the content description or file meta data. Only Pluggd provides a search and playback method that gets into the content itself. HearHere analyzes the content stream, identifies keywords within it and takes the listener to exactly the point in a podcast that is most relevant to the search criteria. Although it may not be Pluggd’s intent to be the most complete source of podcasts on the Internet, it will certainly be the best and will quickly become the preferred way to find audio content online.
