The Presto Service helps friends and families stay connected by making it easy to share digital content without a computer or Internet connection. the Presto digital delivery service and HP Printing Mailbox, developed with Hewlett-Packard, allows those who do not use computers or who are light computer users to automatically receive printed email, digital photos and more from the people they care about.

Sixty-five million American adults are not online and only 26% of Americans age 65 and older use the Internet, according to a Pew Internet & American life Project survey. Presto taps this market and helps the 78.2 million baby boomers and their parents stay connected.

I’ve followed Presto since its earliest days and have been tremendously impressed by the market research, smart thinking and clean design that has gone into the HP Printing Mailbox with Presto Service. the company is clearly carving a niche in the senior market, and this spam-free mailbox is just the right delivery mechanism for non-computer households. Yet, I suspect Presto will also find a large and eager audience among computer-savvy middle-agers who simply prefer to have their digitally delivered news and RSS feeds printed for easy reading.
