The uControl Link connects to existing alarm systems and communicates status over three redundant connections (cellular, broadband and phone line). In addition to delivering always-on connectivity and real-time security, uControl enables consumers to control and monitor their alarm systems from mobile devices or the Web. uControl’s solution couples self-installation and online management with the traditional ability to dispatch police and fire emergency services from licensed monitoring centers.

Parks Associates reports that there are 21 million alarm-monitored homes, representing $5 billion in annual recurring revenues. There are an additional 6 million homes with unmonitored systems, representing a $1 billion opportunity. Of this installed base, 80% have broadband and nearly 15% use only VoIP or cellular instead of traditional phone lines.
