Product Description

The Streaming Media Defender product line offers proactive protection from piracy threats such as recording, reflecting and account sharing. Similar to anti-virus software, Streaming Media Defender is anti-piracy software that protects streaming media, video conferencing and other Internet-based communications without the hassle of constant patches and updates. These two new products—Streaming Media Defender for Flash and Streaming Media Defender for VOIP—expand the Streaming Media Defender service offering to Flash media and VOIP phone service.

Market Opportunity

In-Stat Research predicts that the streaming media business will exceed a compound annual growth rate of 45.1%, while video conferencing is expected to exceed 17% growth, according to the Gartner Group. Combined, the online media business should exceed $5 billion annually by 2009. Defined in terms of streams, the MPAA reports that the entertainment industry already exceeds 11 billion streams a year. As a new market offering, we expect to protect approximately 5 million additional streams per year.

Demo Says

Unlike most DRM schemes, LiveSquare attacks the digital rights management challenge at the time of delivery, insuring that content streams only to those who have rights to consume it. This approach eliminates the cat-and-mouse battle between DRM coders and crackers, identifies new threats to rights schemes as they are deployed and prevents broadcasts to content pirates. Now, LiveSquare is applying its anti-piracy technology to Flash applications and video conferencing and insuring that confidential conversations remain that way.
