Product Description

SharedBook has created an on-demand reverse-publishing platform that allows users to extract data and content from multiple sources, manipulate it and then distribute their unique creation online or off. Today, our SharedBook products are sold directly to consumers, and through e-commerce sites, as well as through exclusive, branded marketing partnerships. In February 2007, SharedBook will introduce an open API, enabling third parties—consumer and business—to integrate their own data into the SharedBook platform, for on-demand output.

Market Opportunity

SharedBook’s technology is being employed today in many large industries, including Yearbook ($3 billion), Personal Publishing ($4 billion) and Online Market Research ($1.5 billion). By freeing data on the Internet to be repurposed offline, SharedBook is monetizing the user-generated content created by Web 2.0 and opening untapped markets.

Demo Says

One of the most frustrating aspects of Internet content is the lack of permanence. Online photo galleries lack the charm of leather-bound albums, and it’s nearly impossible to capture all the IM conversations and post comments. No doubt, that’s why so many companies are focusing on memory story telling and personal publishing. Calling its product the first mashup publishing platform, SharedBook lets users pull content from multiple third-party sources, mix it up however they choose and output it into a personalized book. The possibilities are endless, as is the need to create something tangible out of the vapor of technology.
