Product Description

TeleFlip redefines the smart phone by allowing email to automatically flow to standard mobile phones with no new software downloads or special handsets, making the cell phone, in effect, an inexpensive cousin to the BlackBerry and Treo. TeleFlip's new “Alias” feature also allows users to establish the first universal mobile network domain by matching a personal user name or “handle” with a mobile number. The “mobile domain name” land grab is now on and the mobile dashboard is waiting.

Market Opportunity

TeleFlip eliminates the complexities and high costs associated with delivering emails to mobile phones. With well over 2 billion mobile phones and 171 billion emails sent per day worldwide (Radicati Group, May 2006), the opportunity for messaging traffic is staggering. Globally, mobile operators earned $70 billion in text messaging revenues during 2005 (In-Stat, 2006). If 1% of all email traffic was converted to mobile network traffic, worldwide text messaging volume would nearly double.

Demo Says

While there are plenty of variables yet to be determined, we think it’s safe to say: Keep your eye on Teleflip. There are over 230 million cell phones in the United States, and only 10 million offering email functionality. Virtually all of those phones can, however, send text messages. What if those other 220 million phones could receive email via text messaging? What if it didn’t cost $400 for an email-enabled handheld? What if this was free? It could mean a significant shift in email and messaging as we know it.
