Product Description

Using a combination of marks and trails, Trailfire introduces a new way to discover desired content online. Trails are collections of related pages created by real people. People who use trails add their own comments and ratings to refine the relevance for others, bringing the value of human intelligence back to search. Trailfire further breaks down the barriers of traditional Web search by enabling people to find and post trails any place on the Internet.

Market Opportunity

Social networking sites attract 5% of all Web visits, with a 34% overall growth for the category, according to Hitwise (2006).

Demo Says

The sticky note on the Web page is an ever-evolving technology—a great idea looking for true innovation to make it, well, stick. Trailfire has a great shot at taking the lead in Web annotation with a product that literally takes you by the hand and leads you. Mark specific spots on pages and tie multiple notes together into one meaningful Web experience. Send the trails to your friends and have them follow your path. The notes themselves are feature-rich, with threaded commenting, ratings and related trails. It’s a new spin on social networking and bookmarking that makes the Internet a friendlier, more comfortable environment.
