Yodio is a new online destination community for creating and sharing audio casts. Unlike most podcast Websites, Yodio features a proprietary audio-publishing service that makes it fast, easy, and fun to produce short, high-impact audio casts. Yodio also features a rich marketplace where recordings—called “yodios”—can be rated, streamed or downloaded to most portable devices. And, the marketplace includes one of the first micro-payment systems that rewards audio creators with royalties and supports audio advertising.

Jupiter Research predicts 100 million MP3 players will be in use in the United States by 2011. A 2006 Pew Internet study estimates that 48 million Americans have contributed content on the Internet. In addition, the Diffusion Group forecasts the number of podcast downloaders to explode from 4.5 million in 2004 to 60 million by 2010.
