- VidyoConferencing enables HD-quality video conferencing over general-purpose IP networks across a broad range of environments, from the home-office desktop to the dedicated corporate video-conferencing facility. In this system, each endpoint receives the highest quality video it is capable of handling. VidyoConferencing also represents the first commercial use of H.264 /SVC, a crucial new video compression technology that enables a distributed, Internetbased approach in which costly, computeintensive MCUs are replaced by simpler, lightweight VidyoRouters.
- Market Opportunity
- Per Wainhouse Research, the market for group video conferencing is $1 billion; ten times that size once desktop video systems are included. Vidyo enables seamless integration of room and desktop video conferencing across general-purpose IP networks and will be the first company to deliver SVC-enabled solutions for the enterprise market.
