- Liquidus, founded in 2001, was bootstrapped by its founders through 2006, and took a private angel round of financing in January 2007 in the amount of $1.5 million to expand operations and product development.
- Competitors
- Liquidus is the only company offering localized, mass video creation and distribution across multiple media and product verticals under one roof. Competition exists on a small scale only in niches that Liquidus serves, but does not exist across market segments. In the cable TV segment, the Liquidus video production platform is used almost exclusively by the major operators, including Comcast, Time Warner.

- Liquidus specializes in the mass production and distribution of video across multiple media. Liquidus has commoditized the creation of commercial advertising video, offering advertisers inexpensive production, distribution and/or placement of large quantities of localized video advertisements (such as video classified ads) for placement on digital cable video on demand, online, standard TV, eTV/ ipTV and eventually mobile devices. The Liquidus online interface for producing and distributing video faster, better, cheaper is called SpotSense.
- Market Opportunity
- Classified advertising is a $100 billion dollar global category -- $30 billion dollars in the U.S. ($17 billion in daily newspapers, $5.5 billion online, $4 billion in trade publications, $4.5 billion in weeklies/other). Add in Yellow Pages ($18 billion), catalogs ($20 billion); Guides (travel, restaurants) … there is at least $100 billion in U.S. spending that Liquidus products can target.

- Video advertising is washing over the Internet in a wave that may well sweep aside local advertisers in favor of big brand players. Liquidus is a life raft to those smaller advertisers, enabling them to catch the video advertising wave. The Liquidus SpotSense commoditizes video classifieds and opens interactive television advertising to local merchants.
