Pre-conference PR support
In the months leading up to the conference, PR Professionals Porter Novelli works with Chris Shipley and Matt Marshall to hand pick the media who receive conference invitations. This process is carefully executed to ensure that DEMO receives quality, varied and extensive coverage. Reporters are selected based on their influence and their focus on particular market segments – the ratio of enterprise to consumer press is meant to mirror that of the demonstrator pool. Accordingly, demonstrators’ media wish lists are carefully considered to ensure appropriate coverage of all market segments (see media policies for additional information).

DEMO’s PR team will issue a series of releases about DEMO in the months leading up to the conference. These releases focus on the conference’s high caliber, successes, producer, and the emerging technology themes that will take the DEMO stage. In addition, a media advisory announcing all demonstrator companies, headquarter cities and URLs will be issued on Friday, September 18, 2009.
Media Attendance
The DEMO conference and the products selected to be part of the event receive extensive coverage in leading business and technology publications and influential blogs, podcasts and broadcast programs. Typically, 60-70 media from a range of outlets attend each DEMO event. At DEMO 09, companies launching products benefited from more than 200 million media impressions before, during and long after the conference. For most demonstrators, DEMO will be a media relationship-building forum. Take advantage of the event to meet as many reporters as you can. Each demonstrating company should expect to talk with five to seven reporters during the conference, though not every meeting will result in an article.
DEMO PR Conference Calls
Porter Novelli will lead a group conference call, open to all demonstrators, to discuss the PR rules and regulations for DEMO. On the call, Porter Novelli will outline best practices and some tips for media success at DEMO. The DEMO PR team will offer two conference calls (one in August and in September) in the lead up to DEMO in order to accommodate everyone's schedule and time zone. You will start to receive email notifications from Jackie in mid to late July, giving you the first opportunity to sign up for either call.
